Running late tonight so I "Pulled it together in the last 5 minutes" I filled in the charcoal and then used an eraser to pull colour away.

Fly In Fly Out

Totally forgot to post the first large acrylic I finished. Learnt a lot. Based on a comment by my son complaining about the cockatoos who fly in, destroy the tree and fly off again, all while making a massive noise. Cross related to the mining industry where many workers are called FIFO.

I dragged my Sister In Law to the city to see my sketchbook and many others. Great fun and we met a lot of other artists.

Second attempt at Acrylic painting

This is a personal piece I was born in "57, my age next year, 57, believe it or not mum recently told me here first phone number was , yep, 57.  She is in the (L) hand corner with her pink heart. My Sister In law, Carol , who died recently is represented by the pink dolphins and my granddaughter is represented by the beautiful dragon fly. I have added an ancient Egyptian symbol for Life in the (R) hand corner to balance the emotion.   I am the figure trying to  find Zen through painting.  Still needs work but progress is happening.

Exercise in Colour value/mixing

Take one classic painting by Renoir, recreate in excessively small squares and you covert "On The Veranda" to "Torture on the Veranda." Not easy but a good lesson.

Two little watercolours

Two days of screen printing on paper and fabric

Started class with a couple of tea towels (made in Russia!) and following week paper. Managed to get 2 colours laid in both classes. The words for the giraffe ballon are from a song by Queen. I feel great having leaner so much since the beginning of Sept.

New studio taking over. Now I have somewhere to throw paint.
